Dear friends,
We are in the process of submitting the revised manuscript for our work. However, we are encountering a technical issue while attempting to change the corresponding author and seeking your assistance.
The steps we followed for this change are outlined below:
Figure 1: Check "This is the corresponding author" - "Save this author"
Figure 2: The Corresponding Author's email address is not found in the table, then click "Register New Corresponding Author"
Figure 3: Fill in the corresponding author's information.
Figure 4: The web page shows: "The following personal identifiers already belong to other user records in the database. Duplicates are not allowed, so you cannot use them with this user record. You may have registered another user record in the past, or an identifier may have been linked to the other user record by an Editor. Please use the button below to go back to the Previous Page and edit or remove the identifiers you entered.”
We are currently unable to resolve this technical problem and are seeking your assistance. We have a couple of questions:
- Given that we have already listed the correct order of authors and corresponding authors in the file “Title Page,” is it still necessary to change this on the submission web page?
- If the answer to the above question is affirmative, could you kindly provide guidance on how to register a new corresponding author, considering the challenges we are facing?
We truly appreciate the time and commitment you have dedicated to our manuscript throughout this process. Your assistance in resolving this matter is invaluable to us, and we eagerly await your guidance.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Qingtian Liang

Thanks for your question. It looks like the your corresponding author has 2 emails linked to a single ORCID (the email in Figure 1 and the email in Figure 2), and an existing Editorial Manager account with the email in Figure 2.
Editorial Manager will not allow for 2 accounts with the same email, or allow 2 accounts to resolve to the same ORCID. This results in the error in Figure 4.
The solution would be to select the author in Figure 2 with the ORCID that has already been registered into Editorial Manager. The corresponding author can update their record in Editorial Manager to reflect a new email address if necessary.
Hope that helps.
Thank you very much for your support!
