Dr. Ashek Elahi Noor works as a Dental Public Health Educator and Assistant Professor in the Sapporo Dental College & Hospital's Department of Dental Public Health in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 2007, he graduated from the University of Dhaka with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). He was hired as a Lecturer/Medical Officer in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department in March 2009, following his internship at this institution. From 2013 to 2016, he worked as a lecturer at Dental Public Health after being moved from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since then, he has been elevated to the position of Assistant Professor and Dental Public Health Educator in this institution's Dental Public Health department.

He has been eager to pursue additional studies in public health during his time studying dentistry. In his capacity as a lecturer in the outpatient department (OPD), he must deal with numerous patients who have been diagnosed with mouth cancer as well as various oro-facial infections. The majority of these patients were diagnosed with oral cancer after they had a history of smoking cigarettes and using other smokeless tobacco products. Sadly, their prognosis is not good following treatment, which left him feeling really depressed and sorry for their family member.

He sees this circumstance occasionally and becomes inspired to realize his dream of managing them in a standard manner after graduation or of conducting an increasing amount of appropriate study to limit their pain going forward. In 2012, he soon after earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) from NIPSOM under BSMMU.

Remarkably, the subject of his future research coincided with the topic of his final dissertation in the MPH course: "Smokeless tobacco uses among the women in old Dhaka."  In addition, he conducts volunteer dentistry clinics in several Bangladeshi cities and rural areas. In addition, he takes part in and supports the dental camp, which is a "model project for an improvement on oral health care in rural area in Bangladesh organized by JICA in 2011-2013 sessions." We were aware that prevention is preferable to treatment. Thus, it is essential to do study to determine the root cause of the issue and whether a workable, practical remedy can be found.

It seems plausible that his training and professional experience in this area provide him a significant edge in his role as a dental public health researcher. Ultimately, in 2000 and 2022, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), England.

I am Dr. Vijay Nema, currently serving as Scientist E at ICMR-NARI. I have held the position of the head of the Molecular Biology division for the past 11 years during my 15-year tenure here. Before joining ICMR-NARI, I pursued my postdoctoral work at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences, Hyderabad, and Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, USA. My doctoral research, focused on enterotoxins of S. aureus and other organisms, was conducted at Defence R & D Establishment, Gwalior.

Additionally, I have experience as an assistant professor at Cancer Hospital Gwalior and worked as a research scholar at Dr. Harising Gour University, Sagar, M.P. During my time at the university, I conducted research on Oleagenic fungi to identify species capable of producing polyunsaturated fatty acids. I also contributed to projects at Tata Energy Research Institute, New Delhi, specifically on an endosulfan degrading bacterial consortium.

My extensive body of work spans various fields, including Microbiology, Proteomics, Metagenomics, Diagnostics, Neuroinflammation, Diabetes, and Forensic Microbiology. This has resulted in over 60 national and international publications, one awarded patent, two patents in process, and over 250 sequence submissions. I have successfully completed multiple research projects and currently manage four ongoing projects with funding from various agencies.

In addition to my research endeavors, I have mentored postdoctoral students, supervised over 30 dissertation studies, and successfully guided one PhD candidate to completion, with others currently in progress.
