Selecting a journal to submit my papers to is a very important process. This is because if the direction of both the author and the publisher match, it will be easier for the paper to be published. Regarding peer review, this case report was accepted without any revise.
I have chosen "Medicine" as the journal to submit for the following reasons.
"Wolters Kluwer" and "Lippincott" are world-wide publishers, and one of their journals, "Medicine", has a long tradition. I am sure that "Medicine" is not a predatory journal. The impact factor and the index reflect this.
I am a clinical surgeon and the hospital I work for is not big, so I often submit case reports rather than original articles. "Medicine" is a journal where case reports of various scopes can be submitted, and importance of acceptance policy is based on scientific and logical value rather than novelty.
Because the submission format is relatively free, there is less stress in preparing manuscripts, figures, and tables.
APC for open access is not cheap, but it is reasonably priced.
Because of these reasons, for a clinical doctor like me, "Medicine" is one of the best journals to submit. If I have chances, I would like to submit more.
